The Chair Was Not Hurt

Demonstrators outside the Museum on Saturday afternoon found a new way to use Chairs of the Board, our furniture/architecture installation on Oak Street Plaza.

Perhaps this is what a public museum looks like.

Occupy Oakland's initial march, quelled by police, was to the Kaiser Convention Center, next door to the Museum. OMCA closed at 3:45 pm when tear gas was coming into the main entrance. We're part of the urban fabric of Oakland for better or for worse…projectile chairs notwithstanding, we think it's for the better.
