Let's Shack!
Thursday, October 6, 2011. Posted by Sasha Archibald under Shacking Up with J. Otto and John Muir
J. Otto's project debuted at the Museum's O Zone event on September 30, 2011. For this event, J. Otto built his version of the iconic shack where Muir sheltered himself in Yosemite.
The artist spoke about Muir and guided visitors in Muir-esque activities: plant pressings, botanical drawing, and philosophical musings on the relationship between humans and the natural world.
Below are photos of the shack at O Zone, followed by J. Otto's own rendering.
