Feed the Elephant

The White Elephant Sale is an epic rummage sale, heroically organized each year since 1959 by the Oakland Museum Women's Board. It's happening this weekend, on March 3 and 4. Advice from an insider: Get there early! Wear comfortable shoes! Bring a friend! We're fans of the bric-a-brac department (who can resist that name?) and the cheap kitchen supplies, but the people-watching is almost as much fun as the shopping. Parking will be tight, so consider taking the free shuttle bus from Fruitvale BART. More info here.
