Women’s Board of the Oakland Museum

The Oakland Museum Women's Board was organized in 1959, before the Museum had a building or a collection. The Board’s current mission is to improve and extend OMCA collections, collection facilities, galleries, exhibitions, and special events. It is an all-woman, non-profit organization, consisting of 100 active members, and raises funds exclusively through its annual White Elephant Sale. Over the course of its history, the Women’s Board has donated over 13 million dollars to OMCA.
