Tara's Organic Ice Cream

Established by chef Tara Esperanza, Tara's Organic Ice Cream moved to the Bay Area in 2008, and now has two shops, in Berkeley and North Oakland. The company serves some 100+ flavors—stout fudge, adzuki black sesame, earl grey, beet balsamic, and truffle with caramelized pear among them—all made from certified organic and seasonal ingredients. Tara's Organic Ice Cream has been featured on the Food Network and Forbes Traveler magazine, and voted Best of Oakland many years running by the East Bay Express and Oakland Magazine.
