Peter and Donna Thomas

Peter and Donna Thomas are artists who primarily work in bookmaking. Based in Santa Cruz, they established their first printing press in 1976 and have collaborated since then as book binders, printers, and makers of miniature books. Their work has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions around the world and won multiple awards. Their projects have included documenting the arts of traditional hand papermaking and experimenting with non-traditional book-object hybrids. In 2006, Peter and Donna walked from San Francisco to Yosemite, following the trail John Muir used in 1868, and documented the project at Peter Thomas is also president of the Ukulele Club of Santa Cruz.
