Mark Dion

Mark Dion is an artist who uses conceptual and visual strategies of display and installation to examine the construction of knowledge about the natural world. His work is included in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Tate Modern, London, and has been featured in solo exhibitions at institutions as varied as the Seattle Art Museum; Institut Oceanographique de Paris; Ruhr Amateur Orinthologist Clubhouse; Miami Art Museum; University of Tokyo Museum; Springhornhof Institute of Neolithis Archeology; London Natural History Museum; and many others. He is a 2001 recipient of the Larry Aldrich Foundation Award, and teaches at Columbia University in New York City.
