Lloyd Kahn

Lloyd Kahn is the founding editor-in-chief of Shelter Publications, Inc., and a former editor of the Whole Earth Catalog. An author, photographer, and pioneer of the green building and green architecture movements, in 1968 he supervised the building of seventeen domes at Pacific High School, an alternative school in the Santa Cruz mountains. Kahn is the author of Domebook One (Pacific Domes, 1970), Domebook Two (Pacific Domes, 1972), The Septic System Owner's Manual (Shelter Publications, 2000), Home Work: Handbuilt Shelter (Shelter Publications, 2004), and Builders of the Pacific Coast (Shelter Publications, 2008), and is the editor and publisher of numerous other volumes. He lives in Marin County.
