Amy Balkin

Amy Balkin is a San Francisco-based artist. Her projects include This is the Public Domain, an effort to create a permanent commons from 2.5 acres of land near the Mojave Desert; Public Smog, which examines carbon trading and the commodification of the atmosphere; and a collaborative project called Invisible-5, an audio tour designed to accompany the Interstate 5 route between San Francisco and Los Angeles. In 2007, she was a recipient of the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award.
